When your house literally shifts with the Earth

Okay, so I just watched this video, and it's pretty wild. It shows these long-time residents in California whose homes are actually built right on top of the Hayward Fault. You can see how the fault line has slowly but surely shifted things – like, a fence that used to be straight is now noticeably curved.

It's not like their houses are falling apart or anything dramatic, but it's fascinating to see the subtle, continuous movement of the Earth over decades. Imagine watching your property slowly morph over time because of a fault! Definitely makes you think about where you build your home.
